Another key consideration when developing a LightSwitch application is the underlying database design.  Although the basic concept of a relational database is easy to understand, the experience required to create a truly scalable and flexible database design takes at least ten to twenty years to master.  Similar to real architecture, a database architect must plan for the future and use proven methodologies that can only be learned through experience.  Once a database is created, it is very difficult to change later.  As such, it is important to start with a stable and flexible database design, and build the application up from there.
